5 for 5,000

Did you know -- despite several years of work behind the scenes -- that The Children's Movement of Florida went public only four months ago? In that time, we've met with more than 15,000 citizens during our "Milk Party" tour, collected over 140,000 names and emails, and, as of today, have 1,756 supporters on our Facebook page.

Whether it's through Twitter, Facebook or our CMF blog, the ability to stay in constant contact with our grassroots base will allow for more informed supporters and a louder voice for children. Social media will be an important instrument in the success of this movement, but we need to continue to grow...quickly.

Today, tomorrow, this week...we are asking you to reach out to your Facebook/Twitter networks and build support for The Children's Movement of Florida. Include a link to our Facebook page in your status message, "share" our page with your friends, or send an email blast to your network. Let's see if we can build 5,000 Facebook followers for our five focus issues.

Let's continue to spread the word for Florida's children.
