A bright new year in Central Florida

Posted on 01/12/2011 @ 10:28 AM

The Children's Movement of Florida is still getting out the word in the new year.

In Central Florida, the Osceola County Legislative Delegation met in the afternoon of Friday, January 7th to hear about the 2011 platform. I had the pleasure of making the presentation on behalf of the Honorable John Quinones, CMF's newest statewide board member and a current Osceola County Commissioner. Several local organizations supporting children's issues gave their support to the Children's Movement in their comments, including the Healthy Start Coalition of Osceola County and the Early Learning Coalition.

Thank you to everyone for showing up in Kissimmee on a Friday afternoon to share our priorities with the six legislators. Chairman Mike Horner noted at the end of the meeting that it was clear his community cared a lot about our children and how he appreciated everyone working together.

Central Florida is prepared to make 2011 an important year for children.
