Deborah McNelis is the creator/owner of Brain Insights; a company specialized in raising awareness about the importance of early years. Her goal through this company is to help people gain a better understanding of brain development, its impact and the ways we can all make a difference in a child's early yeays.
Deborah is constantly posting useful information on her website, BrainInsightsOnline.com. This includes: research, resources and videos to help more people understand the role of brain development. Her lastest post is a fantastic video called “Brain Hero.” The video was developed as part of a collaboration effort between the Interactive Media Division of the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California and the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University. If you haven't seen it - it's worth watching! See below
According to the Center on the Developing Child, the video is, “based loosely on such games as ‘Guitar Hero,’ ‘SimCity,’ and ‘The Game of Life,’ … and portrays how actions taken by parents, teachers, policymakers, and others can affect life outcomes for both the child and the surrounding community.”
