Broward and Miami Regional Roundtable Meeting

Miami-Dade and Broward Voice Their Support For Children
We officially kicked off The 17-city listening tour today in Broward and Miami-Dade counties. We brought together our regional committees to create an open dialogue, where everyone was able to share their ideas and opinions on The Children’s Movement and the future ahead of us.
The showing of supporters was strong, the dialogue flowed openly and the ideas were innovative. In short: everyone was eager and ready to get to work.
And, while everyone was aware of how difficult and dissapointing the 2011 legislative session was for Florida’s children, the tone wasn't negative or defeatist. In fact, I could quickly sense the outrage, passion, and desire to use the 2011 legislative session outcome as fuel moving forward.
One thing was clear – no one is laying down quietly. As one committee member put it, “The government insulted everyone [who cares about children] and there are consequences for not listening.”
We now need your help as we all come together in this fight against the poor decisions made by our legislators.
How do YOU think we can get the attention of our legislators?
Hear what some of the roundtable participants had to say and watch more <here>:
Don'f forget: If you're not already, help us build The Movement and become a member today!
