Children's Budget Summit: Perspectives on Children as a National Priority

Posted on 07/20/2011 @ 10:30 AM

Tomorrow, First Focus will host the third national Children’s Budget Summit to galvanize children’s advocates, the media, members of Congress, and the public to protect the best interests of children as our nation seeks solutions to our budget challenges. The theme for this year’s Children’s Budget Summit is “Perspectives on Children as a National Priority.”

Children's Movement of Florida chair, David Lawrence Jr., will be speaking at the event.

Promise the Children aims to help volunteers advocate for and with young people. Their mission is to increase public support for the healthy development of our nation’s youngest citizens with regard to policies around public education, nutrition, healthcare, and comprehensive sexuality education, and they give special priority to initiatives that promote the well-being of low-income children and youth.
