Recently we stumpled across the Reach Out and Read Website. It's a Washington state organization which was developed by pediatricians and early childhood educators who recognized that early exposure to books and reading greatly increases a child’s chance for healthy development and school success. The provide lots of good advice, resources --- and a great reading tip sheet on what children like in books by age...Did you know that older toddlers (24-36 months) prefer books that contain "Rhymes, rhythms, repetitious text – books they can learn by heart..."
