Next jobs to be exported - public school teaching?

Several public schools in Britain are experimenting with interactive online tutoring programs based in India.
Thus far, the programs appear to be popular, according to an article in The New York Times, and administrators say they are cost-effective.
But local teachers fear for their jobs and some are expressing concerns about the qualifications of these distant tutors and potential gaps in their ability to empathize with students immersed in an entirely different culture.
This is one of those finely nuanced "on-one-hand-and-on-the-other hand" issues.
