Schools facing increases in homeless children...

A while back we posted a story from 60 minutes about the state of homelessness and children in Central Florida. See: Hard times generation: homeless kids.

As follow on, I wanted to share a recent article in the Christian Monitor "Schools facing rise in homeless students", which describes how this problem is not only widespread but also how it's impacting and creating difficult new challenges for the school system: "Data from the National Center on Family Homelessness, based in Needham, Mass., indicate that students affected by homelessness are four times more likely to show delayed development and are twice as likely to have learning disabilities as nonhomeless children..."
