Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to visit Seamark Ranch in Green Cove Springs. Seamark's Executive Director, Fred Meiners, provided me with a fascinating hour long tour of the campus. It was truly an amazing place -- I really have not seen anything like it!

Seamark is a beautiful 468-acre campus in Northeast Florida that seeks to provide a “traditional home” environment where live-in house parents provide the security of boundaries and unconditional love. Their approach is therapy-based and individualized. Seamark's goals help children prosper in faith, in school, and in the community.

During my tour, I had a chance to visit the girls homes and meet a live-in house parent, who is also supported and enhanced by professional, on-site counselors. The Ranch Manager teaches self-reliance and personal pride through farm work. As recreational experts will manage aquatic, equestrian, and sports activities.
