Last week, I spent an afternoon at Broward Children’s Center, where Denise Wronowski (Community Liaison) gave me a full tour of their campus. They provide care to infants, children and adults with special health care needs. You can see a complete list of services provided here. If asked to describe my experience, I would promptly reply “emotional rollercoaster.”

Upon initially meeting many of the children who are technologically dependent, my heart sank. Some of these children were born with genetic defects, while others endured freak accidents. It was devastating to see such young children completely dependent on ventilators and feeding tubes. But, we continued on.

As we made our way around the campus, Denise showed me the level of care that their children receive. Broward Children’s Center works with state-of-the-art technology, supported by a professional and educated staff, all of whom love these children dearly. Despite witnessing the unfortunate hand that many of the children at BCC were dealt, I left knowing that they were receiving the best care possible. And for that, I thank you.
