“Individually, we can make a difference – together we can make a change.”

On Wednesday, I attended a wonderful meeting of the Working Women of Tampa Bay. This organization has about 500 members and spans the entire Tampa Bay area from Wesley Chapel to Lakewood Ranch. The inspiring speaker at Wednesday’s luncheon in Tampa was Pam Settle, editor and publisher of Tampa Bay GoodLiving magazine.
Pam has been an enthusiastic supporter of the Children’s Movement of Florida since she attended the Pinellas County Milk Party Rally last September. She has featured the Movement in GoodLiving several times, and she also spoke for the Movement at the Pinellas legislative delegation meeting in early January. She’s even had a photo of our big blue bus as one of the rotating bannerson the magazine’s home page for months!
In her presentation on Wednesday, Pam mentioned her commitment to the Movement, and she urged the attendees to do as she has done: commit to causes that they truly believe in, and then publicly take a stand, using their voices to support those causes.
What truly resonated with me was Pam’s firm belief that if we join together with others who have the same commitment, we can make sweeping changes where they’re needed. She said it very well: “Individually, we can make a difference – together we can make a change.”
