Legislator Returns to School - January 20, 2017
Savvy legislators want to hear from their constituents, the people who elected them to office. That’s why state Rep. Tom Goodson visited some early learning centers in his district before the start of the 2017 legislative session to learn firsthand more about the state’s Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program and how it can be improved.
Rep. Goodson, whose visit was arranged by The Children’s Movement, showed that he understands the crucial relationship between children’s early education and their outcomes later in life.
“We can invest in education now, or build prisons later,” said Goodson (R-Rockledge).
