Movement Talks - September 21, 2016

Movement Talks kicked off for the first time in Pasco County, whose residents are deeply committed to giving back. Representatives from several social service agencies that serve the neediest of the county attended the dinner and discussion hosted by The Children’s Movement. Ideas were shared about how to ensure equity for all children in Pasco and the rest of the state. Also discussed were shared challenges Pasco faces in meeting the needs of the community as a whole. By working together to create solutions to these barriers, we are taking a necessary step toward making Florida the best state in the nation for all our youngest children. At the end of the evening, the leaders at the table were encouraged to continue working together and seek ways to bring other Pasco residents to help children reach their potential. With the U.S. Census Bureau estimating Pasco County to be one of the top 100 fastest-growing in the country and having Rep. Richard Corcoran of Land O' Lakes as the next House Speaker, this looks like a good opportunity to try to address some of the immediate needs of the community.
