For Young Children, Eye Care is Key to a Healthy Outlook

"The American Optometric Association recommends that a child’s first comprehensive eye exam happen when he or she is between 6 and 12 months old, and it coordinates a network of optometrists to carry these exams out for free through its InfantSEE program. That’s because, as Dr. Linley puts it, “vision doesn’t just happen” — it’s a process. And it’s tightly linked to a child’s development. Left untreated, vision problems can hamper almost every facet of a child’s life."
