Children's advocacy group proposes debate

MIAMI (AP) -- If a new children's advocacy group has its way, an Oct. 16 debate between the candidates for Florida governor will focus solely on issues affecting youngsters.
The Children's Movement of Florida -- also known as the "milk party" -- announced the debate Wednesday in conjunction with the University of Miami. It would take place on the school's campus with a live audience and be televised, although details are still being worked out.
The group said Democratic candidate Alex Sink has said she will participate. Republican nominee Rick Scott has not yet accepted. His spokeswoman said all debate proposals are still being reviewed.
