Children's group pressures Scott to debate Sink

A child advocacy group is using a television ad and phone calls to try to get Republican gubernatorial nominee Rick Scott to participate in a debate with Democrat Alex Sink.

Sink has committed to the Oct. 16 debate sponsored by The Children's Movement of Florida. Scott has not.

The group is airing a television ad in Broward County, where Scott's campaign is located, that features two children urging both candidates to participate so voters can learn where they stand on children's issues.

The group is also asking it's supporters to call Scott's campaign urging him to participate.

It plans to hold the event whether Scott commits or not.
