Dug Jones has 25 years of experience in higher education and currently is Santa Fe College’s assistant vice president for economic development. His educational background includes a Bachelors in Therapeutic Recreation, a masters in education, and a Juris Doctorate, all from the University of Florida. Throughout his career, Dug has often chosen community service activities that connect his skills and experiences to issues and projects impacting the educational and developmental needs of children. Dug is a board member for the Alachua County Public Schools Foundation and serves on the Take Stock in Children Leadership Council for Alachua County. He also serves on boards for the ARC of Alachua County and the Non-Profit Center of North-Central Florida. Previously, Dug served on School Advisory Councils for two local elementary schools and coached youth sports programs in the YMCA and the City of Gainesville’s programs. In 2003, Dug co-chaired Santa Fe College’s United Way campaign. As a mentor, Dug currently works with two students.  Dug is married (22 years) with two children (15 and 12).
