Eileen Maloney-Simon, CEO of the YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade County was appointed in 1995. The YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The YWCA accomplishes this through direct services and collaborations designed to improve the quality of life for women and their families. Its budget exceeds $4 million annually and more than 80% of the budget is committed to programming for children (including early childhood learning centers, after-school programs, financial literacy and family wellness programs). The agency employs more than 200 full, part-time and seasonal employees. The YWCA serves 15,500 individuals a year. More than 90% of its employees are women, and two-thirds of the [rograms serve women and girls.

Ms. Maloney-Simon firmly stands in her resolve that until we put the care, nurturing, education and support of our children first, we are abandoning our future.
