In 2006, Lauren returned to Florida with her husband and two children. Lauren made a career change after working in sales, marketing and human resources in the Ballistic Industry by returning to school to study women and children.

She is currently president of Students Advancing Human Rights at Edison State College, vice president of Phi Theta Kappa and a member of the Junior League of Fort Myers. She is also a member of the League of Women Voters and volunteers with the Wish program providing mentorship to young girls in juvenile detention.

Previously, Lauren has been a volunteer for a Human Trafficking Awareness Partnership, providing Art-reach mentoring programs to children on this issue. She has also worked to extend outreach training in the state.

Lauren is most proud of her role as mother to her two children. She believes that all children have the right to a quality education which starts with early literacy, and requires affordable preventative health care and mentoring. She has been the chair of the Children’s Movement of Florida in Collier and Lee since 2010. Lauren supports The Movement’s vision and is proud to be part of making positive change for the future Florida’s children.
