Sergio Bendixen, chief strategist of The Children's Movement of Florida, is among the preeminent public opinion researchers in the United States and Latin America. Bendixen's proficiency originates from his special ability to merge a diverse set of experiences in public opinion research, communications, politics and public policy to strategically address the varied portfolio of his clients.
The extensive political experiences that Bendixen brings to opinion research allow him to devise effective strategies to influence electoral campaigns and public policy. The significant work that Sergio Bendixen has accomplished led Real Clear Politics to recognize him as “one of the most influential men in politics.”
Bendixen's knowledge of, and contacts among, print and broadcast media let him take his expertise in public opinion research to a higher level in serving clients. He understands how to craft his research findings into a potent message that is regarded as both understandable and credible by his clients, the media and their audiences.
In 2008, Bendixen served as the chief strategist for The Children's Trust campaign in Miami-Dade County. Drawing upon his unrivaled expertise of South Florida politics, he designed the effort’s media strategy; managed its political outreach; conducted both its quantitative and qualitative research, and tracked all media buys to test their efficacy. That led to The Children’s Trust being reapproved by an unprecedented 85 percent of Miami-Dade's voters, winning all but one of the 764 voting precincts in the county.
Bendixen graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1970 with a degree in chemical engineering. Following his studies at Notre Dame, he was employed by the Atlantic Richfield Corp. in Corpus Christi, Texas. Subsequently, a fascination with politics and a desire to understand how to shape public policy drew Bendixen into the political arena, opinion research, and the media.
