Bosses for Babies

How This Boss Makes an Impact for Children in Florida

Dana Hodges is the Chief Executive Officer of the Early Learning Coalition of the Emerald Coast, but she is a mother and grandmother first. She recognizes the needs and importance of family in the workplace. Reflecting on her own experiences and the thousands of shared experiences of working families, Dana prioritizes a work environment that is supportive of families. Since taking the reins of the ELC of the Emerald Coast, Dana has implemented flexible work schedules, encouraged the use of a generous paid time off policy, and continues to expand resources for the working families employed at the ELC of the Emerald Coast. By cultivating a family-first culture, she ensures that her team is able to thrive professionally without it taking away from family. This culture creates an organization that is ready to serve the thousands of children in Okaloosa and Walton counties.
