Wells Fargo offers a number of benefits to help employees live their best lives, including health plans, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, leave for critical caregiving and well-being, and discounts on Wells Fargo products and services. They also offer a host of benefits aimed at supporting families and their well-being, such as parental leave. Employees are encouraged to take time to bond with their new infant or child, and are currently offered up to sixteen weeks of paid parental leave for the primary caregiver, and up to four weeks for the non-primary caregiver.
Furthermore, employees are provided twenty days of backup in-home and center-based child care for emergencies, such as child care plans falling through. They also offer up to five days of backup in-home care for themselves, a parent, spouse, domestic partner, or any other adult dependent at any time. Additionally, Wells Fargo’s Critical Caregiving Leave policy provides five days of paid leave to care for a spouse, domestic partner, parent, or child should an emergency occur or the need arises.
Bio
Hector J. Ponte is the Region Executive for Wells Fargo’s South Florida region, where he is responsible for overseeing 115 Wells Fargo branches and their employees across Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. A 38-year veteran in financial services, Ponte began his career as a part-time teller with Florida National Bank in 1986, a Wells Fargo predecessor, and has since held various branch, district and regional leadership roles. Most recently, he served as the Region Bank President for Broward County, formerly known as Wells Fargo’s Southeast Florida region.
As a South Florida native, graduate of Miami-Dade College, and fluent in Spanish, Ponte is very active in the community. He currently serves as Chair of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Committee and as Immediate Past Chair of the Miami-Dade Public Education Fund, where he has been a board member for more than 20 years. He also sits on the boards of directors of United Way of Broward County and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance CEO Council.
